You Can Trust Him in Every Season

For a few months, (at for least us Michiganders) clouds and snow envelop us. Though I love the beauty of winter, I quickly long for the sunshine and blue skies to return. And at last, the flowers are beginning to burst forth from the moist dirt and trees are beginning to bud with beautiful blooms, an echo of what is yet to come. Summer is on its way.

As humans, we walk through shifting and changing seasons in our own lives too, and what a blessing we do not have to walk through the seasons of life alone or unheard, no matter how joyful or painful they may be.

No matter what we face, He will never leave our side.

You can trust Him during the heartbroken season.

The weary season.

The healthy season.

The joyful season.

The searching season.

The lonely season.

The angry season.

The longing season.

The burdened season.

The celebrating season.

Let Your Soul Be Still

The beloved hymn, “Be Still My Soul” was written by Katharina von Schlegel after her husband passed away from a long illness. If you aren’t familiar with the lyrics, it is a gem of a hymn, acknowledging the suffering and changes that come in our life, and that God is sovereign over them all.

"Be still my soul/the Lord is on thy side/bear patiently the cross of grief or pain/leave to thy God to order and provide/in every change He faithful will remain/Be still, my soul; thy best, thy heav’nly Friend/ through thorny ways leads to a joyful end."

He Remains Steadfast

Every moment you have a choice to trust or doubt his faithfulness. But, dear friend, He is no more trustworthy in the happy, joyful days than He is in the dark and sad ones. Though the seasons of life are always changing, He will forever remain steadfast. And for that, we have every reason to trust and obey. No matter what winter you are walking through right now, "God is brewing summer for you." (Charles Spurgeon).
