Comforting Quotes for Anxious Hearts

Anxiety is something I have struggled with my entire life. As a young child, it haunted me, and it is still a battle for me even now as an adult. It is a cruel enemy of peace and rest in Christ.

Yet, we have a Savior who calls us not to fear others and the future, but to fear only Him, because when we do so, our hearts will be at peace, though everything around us might be in turmoil.

Even this morning, Isaiah 26:3 came to my mind, saying, "You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you."

Whatever fears or anxieties may be overwhelming you today, I pray your heart will be still and rest as you trust and fix your mind on Jesus and read the words below.

I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone. -Thomas Merton

The presence of fear does not mean you have no faith. Fear visits everyone. But make your fear a visitor and not a resident. - Max Lucado

Beloved, I say, let your fears go, lest they make you fainthearted. Stop inspiring fear in those around you and now take your stand in faith. God has been good and He will continue to manifest His goodness. Let us approach these days expecting to see the goodness of the Lord manifest. Let us be strong and of good courage, for the Lord will fight for us if we stand in faith. - Francis Frangipane

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. (Psalm 23:4)

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)

O friends, Christ has peace enough and to spare. He is himself, personally, the deep well-spring of an endless peace, and therefore we can understand why we always find peace in him. -Charles Spurgeon

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. (Psalm 56:3)

Jesus calls you today to trust in Him. He is a Good Shepherd and refuge for us to hide in and He will not leave or abandon us though our fears and anxieties might tell us otherwise.

Rest in the shelter and protection of His love. He is the Prince of Peace.
